Opening Weekend

Saturday was opening day for the season. We had home games against Tex Town Tigers on Saturday and on Sunday against Centrals. We won both games against TTT. The first game was 10-0 and the second was 12-4. I pitched the second game and besides a few hits and some not so sharp defensive plays we ended the game after 5 innings. Over the two games the team had 28 hits. It was a fantastic day for the team offensively! Solange was the best hitter of the day. Two homeruns, two triples and even more singles. Sunday was a different story. We were expecting to win easily, but instead lost the first game. Our offense was virtually silent. The Centrals' lead off hitter was responsible for 4 or 5 of the runs and Ginger and our defense were not able to stop her that game. I pitched the second game and we won 4-3 in the bottom of the seventh!! The team still has some things to sharpen up on, but fortunately some late hitting enabled the win. We now have 6 points since you get 2 points per win and 1 per tie. No games next weekend because of the Easter holiday, but our next games are April 30th at home vs. Alcmaaria.
