Switzerland!!

I visited my friends Christina and Claire in Switzerland in June. It was a great weekend. It was really nice to see friends from home after being in Austria for several months. Last year I spent a weekend with Claire and her team and had made friends with a few of them as well so it was nice to see all the Devils again :) I arrived off the train in Wil and Claire, Christina and Tin (their coach) picked me up and we went to an open-air rock festival called Rock am Wier in Wil. It was a great day to have the festival because it was in the 80s and it was great to wear tank tops and shorts. Here I am with a bunch of the Devils at the festival. There were tons of pictures taken and lots of random people that we talked to. It was really cool when meeting people and saying that all 3 of us were from California...that was a great conversation starter :)

The next day we went to Luzern. Tin had to umpire a doubleheader at a field near there, so after we dropped him off we headed to the city. It was fun exploring and walking around with friends. Unfortunately the weather was poor and rainy. The day before felt like summer and now that was long gone. We did see most of the sight during the drizzle and eventually made it up to a lookout tower that was still intact from above the city. We had a great view after we climbed the many many steps to the top. After walking around for a few hours we attempted to head back to the field but the navigation system was not cooperative. At one point we ended up at the totally wrong place...in the middle of a roundabout and had no idea where we were. After Christina finally figured out the correct buttons to push, then we were headed back to the field to pick up Tin. It did not help that the navi was speaking to us in German and the pictures were delayed.

After we got back there was a great home cooked meal for us made by Mama Ursi (as Claire and Christina call her) aka Tin's Mom. Then we played some games at home for my last night in Switzerland. The next day was filled with lots of stories from the three of us and then a long 8 hour train ride back to STP. It was a really great weekend and I hope that I get to see them one more time this summer either in Austria or Switzerland.
